S-Box – characteristics and description
S-Box is our small interface for SPC quality assurance and CAQ (computer-aided quality control). Power is provided via the RS232C port (S-Boxes with USB connections are powered via the USB port, VCP) and no additional external power source is required. The S-Box is available as a pocket-sized unit, making it both portable and space-saving. These properties make the S-Box the optimal tool for deployment on external or mobile measuring applications and for laptop connection.
An external foot switch can be connected to S-Box as an aid in transmitting measured data to the relevant software. Alternatively, the data key on the measuring device can be used.
S-Box equipment and connection options
S-Box is available in different basic design formats, providing either one or two Digimatic ports. S-Box 9 is additionally provided with a 9-pin PC COM port, and S-Box 25 with a 25-pin PC COM port. Both design formats are also available as USB versions.
MUX-designated S-Boxes are provided with the Mitutoyo MUX10 command and data format for the transmission of measuring data to a PC. S-Boxes can be operated with quality assurance data software exclusively configured for the connection of MUX 10-type Mitutoyo Interfaces (e.g. DMX-1, DMX-1 USB und DMX-2 S). All other interfaces support the BOBE EAI488 command set.
